One of Iran’s most mesmerizing natural attractions in the month of April - May is the plain of Inverted Tulips, located on the slopes of the Zagros Mountains. This breathtaking landscape is adorned with rare and unique flowers, offering visitors a truly unforgettable view. So far, around 140 species of inverted tulips have been identified. Turkey with 39 species and Iran with 15 species are considered the primary centers for the growth of these extraordinary flowers. The most famous species of the inverted tulips is known as Tear of Mary , with the scientific name Fritillaria imperialis , meaning "Imperial Inverted Tulip". This regal name stems from the fact that, in earlier times, only the royal greenhouse of England had the right to cultivate and grow this special flower.
