Last years in Russian literature there is a lot of good Apocalypse prose. And indeed a very truthful, realistic, frightening picture of our world. Highly recommend all three books here, "The cadavers" mostly (warning! Dead children description)

Partly listen, partly ebook. The best thing in those books is the humanity and kindness that guides the author. Despite the madness of the world humans continue to be human.
