Just a few hours after the unveiling of the massive "Stargate" project (a $500 billion network of artificial intelligence data centers) at the White House, Elon Musk wrote in a new post on X that "they don't actually have that kind of money." Softbank, Oracle, OpenAI and MGX announced in a statement this morning that with the Stargate project, they are looking to build a huge network of data centers to strengthen the American artificial intelligence infrastructure. These companies have pledged to allocate 500 billion dollars to the Stargate project over the next four years. Musk, who now has a special position in the Trump administration and is even supposed to have his own office in the White House, looks at the news-making project OpenAI with a critical eye. He says SoftBank currently has a budget of much less than $10 billion.
