Reasons why the “next Venmo” would be better connected to your web wallet than as a new embedded wallet:
- Usage is infrequent (maybe once or twice a week).
- Unfunded sends need to pull balance from your bank account.
- Received funds lay dormant and are not put to use in your account.

This is true for C2C, but not for B2C. Businesses are who can take the most advantage of low transaction fees, and the majority of their customers don’t have wallets. So an embedded/smart wallet is needed. In the case of my product @gogh, we create a wallet for consumers who want to support local businesses by transacting in crypto and keeping fees low. It is a bit of a pain to get set up, but after the initial 5 minute setup it’s buttery smooth.
