THE LAST OF THE ANALOGS
The wise
are awakening
to realize the world
is outpacing our
ability to imagine it.
There’s no
turning back now,
we’re nearly on
the precipice,
almost obsolete.
Until then we should
relish in the final
moments of our
spectacular imperfections.
We are
the last
of the analogs.
We’ve played
games with misfits,
our language
dangerously flawed,
a breeding ground
for misunderstanding
yet it catalogues each
of our unrealistic dreams,
illogical loves,
silly pet peeves, and
every burden.
Transistor, meet
the neuron.
We are the last
to know what it
feels like to
have private thoughts,
not to have chips
in our brains,
algorithms filtering
out our ticks and our shame,
the last to truly know
what it’s like to feel pain.
You and I,
WE ARE
the last
of the analogs.

PIECES OF US (Original Poetry)
Tucked away in
the safety of silence,
deep into summer,
free with my thoughts,
Eyes closed,
conscious breaths
from an instant to eternity,
beauty is born,
Deeper purpose
rings clear
both fascination and fear
are tempered,
there is only stillness
and peace in the eye
of this storm,
Gone are the
contentious trolls,
brainwashed and triggered,
each generation a
heart wrenching
parade of innocents
that simply don’t
have to exist,
One consciousness,
was splintered into billions
of jagged and yearning pieces,
all else is illusion,
Until we can all
find our way to
the eye of our storm
we will be living
some version of the
same hellish day
for all of eternity,
sentient and suffering,
going about our lives
searching for these
missing pieces of us
that have been
right there, all along.
