Just ten seconds, imagine you are eating a lemon, see how your mouth produces saliva. I gave this example to show how just thinking about a lemon for ten seconds can trigger such a reaction in our body. Now compare that to when you focus on negative events and issues for ten minutes, ten hours, ten days, or even ten years, or when you are angry, stressed, anxious, or holding onto resentment in your mind, and consider the destructive effects that has on your physical and mental system. Conversely, if you think about positive and good things for ten seconds, ten minutes, ten days, or ten years, your body and spirit will show positive reactions and you will be filled with energy. Remember the lemon example, so when negative thoughts come to your mind, know that if you let them continue for more than twenty seconds, you are cutting the roots of your life!
