- For the first time, the New Year celebration was scheduled for January 1 by order of the famous Caesar, more than 2000 years ago. - According to the Julian and Gregorian calendars, New Year's holidays coincide. - In Russia, the New Year holidays were set for January 1st by decree of Peter I. Before that, the New Year was celebrated on September 1st.
