As of today, 28.8% of Ethereum validators are signaling for a higher block gas limit. When proposing blocks, validators can slightly raise or lower the gas limit. As soon as >50% signal for an increase, the gas limit will gradually move toward the level that most agree on.

This cycle isn't over. In 2021, the blowoff top was so large relative to growth and underlying sentiment that a multi-year bear was inevitable. Not the case in 2025. We won't have a long bear. But macro is terrible rn. Now's the time for cautious accumulation, not leverage.

Ethereum needs to embrace the app layer a lot more. User and dev stickiness will be at the app layer in the long run. Core dev and scaling is of course vital but it's all a build up for apps.

Paying attention to the high timeframes (HTF) offers the best chance to trade the cycles. 30k was not the top, because HTF expansion had not ended. 50k was not the top, because HTF expansion had not ended. 70k was not the top, because HTF expansion had not ended.

I'm advocating for these EIPs to scale Ethereum's L1: EIP-7823 for ModExp reprice, EIP-7732 for ePBS, EIP-7825 to limit max transaction gas, and EIP-4444 for history expiry. Once implemented, we can think about raising gas limits beyond 60 million.

Base is significantly more friendly to building communities and belief in projects. Tokens there do not require a short term trading mind set because they can maintain volume for many days and be relevant more than a few hours after their launch (at least if scams are filtered).
