Last weeks we at @rarible did our first experiments on farcaster with @dappdesigner, @jamesrichardfry and @oglag. Idea of the frame was simple: follow and recast to mint. Results and some tech details in the thread

It was really fun to launch first frame. In about 5 hours more than 5k NFTs were minted, we’ve got more than 10k followers. For the second mint it was about 5k mints in 90 minutes

We underestimated the virality of these frames and our application stopped working because didn’t have enough resources: RAM, CPU and also @neynar started to give us 429's. Thanks to @neynar team we fixed issues with the API and people could use frames again

One more problem that we faced was 5 seconds response limit time for farcaster frames. We found that with ethers.js even simple call to the contract can take 4-5s. This resulted in poor UX: people were pressing the button, but didn’t see any result. In the second mint it was greatly improved by using viem

Another problem we faced was “nonce too low” or similar. This is because we had concurrent requests to mint and nonce was used more than once in the same time. In the second mint we improved this by using several minter accounts and not one
