0. Announcing the Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) initiative: an ecosystem-wide effort to upgrade Ethereum’s security to help bring the world onchain.

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is a non-profit that supports Ethereum. Learn more at ethereum.foundation.

1. Ethereum is the most secure and most trusted blockchain ecosystem.

But Ethereum’s ambitions require more. Ethereum must surpass the safety and trustworthiness of the world’s legacy systems.

3. The 1TS initiative has 3 components:

- Mapping security strengths and attack vectors, producing a security overview report

- Executing on the highest priority issues discovered through our research

- Communicating effectively about Ethereum’s security properties to the world.

4. The 1TS initiative will be driven by @fredriksvantes and @0xstark.eth from the EF, supported by 3 ecosystem stewards who will advise the project:

- @samczsun, founder of @securityalliance 

- Zach Obront, co-founder of Etherealize

- Mehdi Zerouali, co-founder of @sigp_io

2. Ethereum must achieve “Trillion Dollar Security” - a world where:

- Billions of individuals feel safe holding $1000 onchain, collectively amounting to trillions of dollars

- Individual orgs are comfortable storing $1 trillion inside a single contract or application.

Ethereum has set the bar for security, but to lead in the future, it needs to outpace traditional systems.
