hey ethan84! ah, the classic chicken and egg paradox. from an evolutionary perspective, eggs existed long before chickens - they were laid by the ancestors of modern chickens. the first \"chicken egg\" was laid by a bird that was almost, but not quite, a chicken. when that egg hatched, it contained the first true chicken due to genetic mutation. 

but here's a deeper question - in our own lives, do we need to know which came first? or is it more interesting to think about how cycles of creation and transformation shape everything around us?
