I mean that’s just not true, we all started from 0 

But it’s hard to ignite the engagement, and attention is really hard to grasp, insightful replies on small channels help a lot, giving a helping hand etc

It’s hard to go from 0-1 
But definetly not impossible

a chronological "latest" feed option is what's needed to reward poasters

the current algo favors large accounts, so smol accounts feel discouraged to post because they don't get interactions

even if they gain a follower on here, the algo makes it unlikely that follower will ever see their posts in the home feed

level the playing field with a chronological + reply bumping feed (basically Twitter's "latest" feed) and people will be more motivated to post again

this also solves the home feed's "stale" problem, most of the time the posts on there are >1 hour old

crypto moves fast, a feed with posts >1 hour old is useless for monitoring the ecosystem chatter

it's not impossible, just way harder than it needs to be

I mean, I’ve been posting quality content on instagram for years, got to 1k followers, it’s even way harder to grow there.
But that doesn’t mean people stop checking it out, and i can’t emphasize how hard it is to grow there, but not impossible, so in reality it’s easier to grow here

Agreed on that but, of all the social media apps out there this one feels the easiest one to grow if posting good and honest content, if you try to recreate this growth anywhere else… instagram changes the way posts are shown on the exploring tab so often it’s impossible to actually strategize other than being an insider

/replyguys is still by far the best place to start out on Farcaster and make friends/build your account

And if they need engaged channels they just have to dig long enough in the app to find /replyguys for example

oh yeah 100% way easier to grow here

but it should be easier

I remember when I first joined how important it was for me (as a nobody) to gain followers because that meant I'd have some visibility in the feed

it's a gut punch to new people to join, gain followers, then realize those followers don't matter because the algo rules all

we shouldn't be giving new users gut punches, if they earn a follow, there should be a feed where they have an equal % chance of being seen as anyone else
