I emphasize farcaster users since I feel theres a lot of hype about Base. The farcaster contracts are also on OP which has different risks but still shares some of them.

Was doing a swap on @base in @coinbasewallet  earlier and was shocked to see I was about to get hit with a $30 fee. The saving grace is that there is no lock in and I could just go directly to @matchaxyz to avoid exorbitant fees. Nothing against reasonable fees for good products but that seems kinda high.

Had a rare opportunity to explain Ethereum to my parents last night. They aren’t very tech savvy so it was pretty basic. Wish I had some better analogies to lean on. I could tell I lost them when I started talking about “writing to a database”. 🤦‍♂️ Open to advice.
