The Tiger Dance, or Huli Vesha, is a popular folk dance form unique to the coastal regions of Karnataka, especially in Mangalore and Udupi, performed during the Hindu festival of Navaratri. It is a vibrant and energetic art form where performers, mostly men, paint their bodies with tiger stripes and patterns, don elaborate headgear, and mimic the movements of a tiger to the rhythm of drums and traditional instruments.
