fc has the chance to become a commerce giant orders placed and value transfer take place right in the app at a tiny fraction of cost compared to a website storefront w tradfi payment rail identity + social capital built in gotta imagine it’s only gonna get easier to buy/sell product here

I don't get the thesis ... cost savings you speak are vs. card payments on something like Shopify? but what about the infrastructure to manage the shop? would have to build a whole OMS (order management system) on the back-end

comp would be shopify i think - the social layer here is interesting cost savings being no need to upkeep website or pay shopify a high monthly fee + 2% transaction fee for the infra would love to see a more open/decentralized marketplace evolve, where it becomes simple to spin up the shop here or join a marketplace of shops incentive would be the fc client like warpcast doesn’t have take rate on the infra side, they simply want more users on their app

interesting, gotcha - I like the idea, but there are some challenges imo. I think TikTok Shop has stepped into this space to some extent - they don't charge a monthly fee, but charge 5 - 8% per order + optional fulfillment fees. The problem would be the money to build that vs. the upside imo. In this world, a lot of people don't want to be doxxed on either supply side (selling) or demand side (buying). In Web2, the fees for things like payments are higher because there is basically a level of trust in the platforms that make fraud more difficult. For example, Shopify curates who can legally sell on their platform to some extent, and payment providers will offer protection on fraudulent transactions. In Web3, no idea how this could work unless sellers were somehow 'authenticated' by Farcaster or by the company building the infra to some extent.
