every time i visit a new place it’s a reminder that we’re all so similar

borders, language, beliefs give this illusion that we’re vastly different and the leaders/media tend to amplify that, but i just find it hard to believe

personally feel it’s pretty clear that much of the human experience is universal

travel dissolves prejudice through firsthand experience, replacing fear with understanding. 

when we encounter different cultures we see our shared experiences reflected back. 

when we stand in front of natural and man-made wonders like the pyramids of egypt we are humbled. 

when we expand our perspectives we gain empathetic appreciation for others’ reality. 

if more people embraced the world outside of their bubbles, the world would be a kinder, more empathetic place.
