π¨ Kitten Update π¨
Oh man, where to begin! She... is a he! He's roughly 6-7 weeks old and his balls haven't dropped yet, but it's a boy!
He's got worms, a tummy parasite, ear mites, and gingivitis. He had a vaccination which will help these things, on top of a topical which we put on tomorrow, and an oral that he takes in 2 weeks which should get him all fixed up from these issues.
We'll be taking in a stool sample in 1 months time to test to confirm everything is good to go!
The bad news, he's too young to test for FIV as there's a high rate of false positives at this age. They're going to talk to the lab and see if we can possibly use the stool sample or another way to test for FIV. If not, it's done at 6 months.
Either way, the little nugget is going to have to remain segregated from the other kitties until we can confirm a (hopefully negative) FIV test. This could last for upwards of 4 months ππΏ 16 replies
