Now, a fungus takes the wheel. Anand Mishra, a research associate in the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Cornell University, suggest a method of integrating electronics with fungal cells in a biohybrid robot. And a workable prototype of this amazing robot has already been created! It uses the hardy cells from a mushroom called Pleurotus eryngii The mushroom's own electrical activity controls the robot, converting into its movements.
