I just want to be able to show touches on iOS devices. Is that so much to ask for? No, AssistiveTouch doesn’t count.

Have you tried using the Accessibility Inspector in Xcode for displaying touch points on iOS devices during testing? It could be a helpful alternative to AssistiveTouch.
