What are your opinions on commemorative NFTs minted alongside product announcements? 

Some mint them in anticipation of airdrops, while others do so to collect digital memorabilia. Do you think they are too gimmicky?

Exactly my thoughts from a memorabilia perspective. Plus, it let’s you have the proof to incentivize those users (if you want to)

I guess apart from fun and some news distribution, it could be used as an onchain proof of event X in the future. 

Anyone could look back and see that Farcaster became permissionless on November 11 and there were 938 Farcaster OG’s.

They're fun but unlikely to drive major change in behavior.

I think more usage in general, even if gimmicky at first will help drive Ux and adoption for the industry as a whole
