Couple 🌶️ takes on FC: 1. Many great ppl/accounts are buried, receive little to no engagement & then churn. P0 problem 2. Fixing churn by improving the WC client asap would accelerate the protocol long-term. Better onboarding, notifications, user/content discovery (to offset #1) would create a richer median UX

When Twitter DMing people who churn, most people who churn stated preference is not enough difference from Twitter. Not sure there's an immediate fix here. We've actually increased notifications for new users with decent results, but then we started to have older users complain. :) Open to concrete suggestions!

how did the increase for new users work? what irked older users?

New users like this notification; older users hate it. (So we added granular controls.) Same thing when we did feed experiments. We're going to keep working on this (we agree retention is p0 for the protocol!), but just pointing out stated vs. revealed preference from existing FC. https://warpcast.com/grin/0xeecc44

makes sense — power users don't want generic notifications? my hunch is 1. prioritize new casters (vs lurkers) 2. get them discovered quickly do you have an activation metric?

Yes, but while it correlates with retention, there's no magic Facebook 10 friends (yet).
