A 30% reduction in SEC regulatory filings in the field of digital currency by 2024 According to research by Cornerstone, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) faced a significant decrease in regulatory cases in the field of digital currencies in 2024.The number of cases decreased from 47 in 2023 to 33 in the last year of Gary Gensler's presidency. However, the amount of fines reached an unprecedented record of 5 billion dollars. During Gensler's administration from April 2021 to December 2024, the total fines imposed were more than $6 billion, which is a four-fold increase compared to $1.5 billion under Jay Clayton.
