TIL that I actually should be using em dashes if I wanted to be grammatically correct -- not hyphens.

love a good em dash, but was having an argument yesterday on X with another web3 marketer who thinks em dashes are overused and are a red flag for AI writing; he said it makes your writing look like “slop.”

I firmly pushed back—shitty writing is shitty with or without the use of em dashes.

I do see them a lot in AI writing, which is actually what made me look them up!  But I really like using them myself (now that I know I’m not supposed to use hyphens)
