What's the benefit of it over a closed laptop? That also helps you travel the other 5% of the time. I ask because I recently told my mum to buy an Air so she can travel with it more easily.

Main reason is I've always preferred a desktop set up to a laptop. But if I were to give a bunch of small reasons: - Ability to upgrade display independent / better support for multiple - No futzing with cables, weird window resizing - More ports - Takes up less space / mount under desk - Always on - Ethernet
