Persepolis … is located in the ancient city of Pars, one of the ancient cities of Iran, which has been the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire for many years. Persepolis was built during the reigns of Darius the Great, Xerxes, and Artaxerxes I, and was inhabited for nearly 200 years.
