I swear one of the unspoken curses of living in NYC is that the smoke alarm goes off ANY TIME you try to chef anything up on the stove top.

I used to think it was because I didn’t know how to cook but now I know it’s because the gods just like to make random parts of living in NYC irrationally difficult.
