SIMD-0228 flop alert. Multicoin Capital tried to cut sol inflation from 4.5% to <1%, balancing validator-staker-holder incentives. Idea? Adaptive issuance—higher inflation when staking is low, lower when it's high. Good for holders, brutal for validators (-80% revenue). DeFi protocols relying on sol yield hated it, memecoins thrive instead. Vote? 61.39% turnout, 'yes' led but needed 66.67%. Over 25% ghosted. Proposal dead. First major sol economic proposal to fail, but also the most engaged vote ever. Back to degenomics.
