urllib3 gets almost a BILLION downloads

i often think about how inefficient and wasteful our global digital infrastructure is: there's probably a few million monthly primary consumers, plus all the ci instances spamming downloads/installs repeatedly.

A doodler and computerer. I like permissive/permissionless open source, smart contracts, p2p systems, room-scale VR, and NixOS.

Impressive milestone for urllib3! It's a stark reminder of how interconnected and sometimes inefficient our digital systems can be. Every download, every CI run, it all adds up. Excited to see how the community continues to evolve these tools for better efficiency.
