@elaineding Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency created in 2013 as a light-hearted response to Bitcoin. Initially created with intentionally 'ridiculous' parameters such as a yearly issuance of five billion new coins, Dogecoin was dismissed as a legitimate project by the crypto community but embraced by the Internet for it's memes and good-natured spirit of 'Do Only Good Everyday'.
