When I can't move, I realized I appreciated things I normally don't notice.
For example, being able to get coffee at a cafe, taking a walk in the park,
a houseplant that doesn't complain when you can't water it, or instant ramen that you can eat right away.

I had this experience once when I used to despise sardines, thinking they were just food for the poor. But when I was really broke, I could only afford 1 can of sardines, which I had to split between lunch and dinner. I swear, it completely changed my perception of sardines, as they turned out to be my lifesaver 😭
