Trending Topics Should Be 🌸

❀ In Japanese culture, sakura symbolizes impermanence (mujō): nothing lasts forever, and that’s what makes it meaningful. 

❀ Current trending topics linger too long: they shouldn’t dominate the feed for days.

❀ Farcaster trends need to pop and fall quickly, like sakura petals after rain.

❀ You can’t hold onto sakura blossoms and you can’t hold attention with stale topics.

❀ If a topic stays too long, spammers and LLMs will hijack it and that kills the vibe.

❀ Sakura season is communal — people pause and share the moment. Trending topics should feel the same:
	❀A shared, ephemeral experience
	❀A reason to check the app often
	❀A way to find cool people talking about cool things

I cherish the Sakura. Make me cherish trending topics taking up space on my home feed.

during this short and special time of year when the /sakura  bloom, they truly deserve to be the trending topic.
