scizors x eirrann = samhain This collection is a consecration of the artistic styles of identical twin artists scizors and eirrann, who have collaborated to craft a view of Samhain unlike anything seen before. By combining the porcelain figurines of scizors’ ‘glazure gals’ series and the glass-like plant life of eirrann’s ‘fragilis vita’ series, a new visual vernacular emerges. The fragile and transient nature of both glass and porcelain poignantly mirrors the ephemeral veil between worlds during Samhain. Through these delicate mediums, the images portray various aspects of the folklore, tradition, and celebrations related to Samhain, some true to history and others embellished for artistic effect.
