I actually love the tipping thing. It feels like a low entry point for people to feel like they can be a patron or provide minimal mutual aid. and it’s nice way to show gratitude. I feel like that’s a cultural shift we need.

the problem is that casual tipping gets people in trouble because all the changing rules and no way to verify if you are following the rules. It's easy to break the "rules" whatever they are even if you are not trying to take advantage.

I feel like tipping through structures like @microsub can help solve the problem. You could make it so you can only tip through protocols that are tooled to follow the rules even if they change. But it definitely would help if some standards were adopted across the board.
