Mistral was good back when they made unaligned models, their more recent stuff is pure slop compared to o1+ or claude 3.5+

Unfortunately yes. I use Mistral sometimes, but it's not really useful for complex stuff

Yeah, Mistral was always the “roleplay” LLM - all the companion AIs use 8x7b and 8x22b, but both are very old nowadays.

Definitely don’t want to try coding with it though. It’s awful at complex tasks.

Unfortunately the EU has since regulated AI startups to death, so we won’t be seeing any new sota’s get built within our borders.
