The first thing you need to understand is that, in order to maintain product quality and development velocity, this is a time to bring in more highly experienced developers -- it's not a good time to bring on interns or generally junior folks

Some people have offered to work for free or little pay -- it's not about the money, it's about the organizational overhead that management takes. Right now, the most effective people are going to be the ones that can run maximally independently.
