Before the FUEL mainnet launch, users can stake money to earn points, which will then be used for token distribution. It seems that this strategy will be commonly used for new chain mainnet launches in the future to raise the participation threshold. Consequently, getting airdrops with zero or low cost might become a thing of the past. Berachain and Monad, which are set to launch in the coming months, might also adopt a similar incentive strategy. Since both projects are new L1 blockchains, they might offer an option where you can provide ETH or BTC and receive token distribution based on points. Additionally, they could offer a very attractive token allocation if you agree to automatically swap your ETH or BTC for their tokens after the mainnet launch. However, given the ever-changing nature of the crypto market, these are merely speculations based on the current situation. Let's wait and see.

A common reply I see is: "you just set it up so that your outgroup *is* the set of people doing bad things" The challenge with this approach is that "people doing good things", for any reasonable definition of good, are not a coherent social group, or at least if they are, that configuration is very unstable.
