I personally am not a big fan of web3 stuff. I have avoided investing either time or money in it because the problems it purports to solve either don’t interest me or seem to have better more direct solutions. But farcaster seems fine, in that the crypto bits are barely visible to me!

Agree with @ccarella. web3 eventually should be something transparent/invisible to the end-user. And as more protocols as FC keep showing up, adoption could be higher in the next couple of years.
