In most cases realtime payment tech backed by governments are restricted by jurisdiction and borders. Stablecoins are borderless. Until a majority of governments collaborate to enable realtime instant settlement by integrating infrastructure, it's a safe bet that stablecoins will exist alongside government backed payment systems.
