Why would I pay that amount or more in ETH?

If you're going to charge, charge reasonable prices in USD terms.
Also, you should ideally let people try the app before the paywall. Have a free read-only mode, reduced featureset or a limited time.

apps that want to monetize early on need to have a freemium model

try it out, and pay if it solves a problem for you

e.g. i happily pay monthly for openai, duolingo, and edreams. why? because i use them often, and they solve a problem for me. when that happens, i don’t care about the pricing

same can happen in crypto. if it makes your life easier or helps you earn smth in return, payment shouldn’t be a problem. study /supercast 

on pricing i agree there need to be a fix in our industry if we want to onboard new users. pricing needs to be displayed in stables and let users pay for it with a credit card
