One thing came up to me today is that: can we actually diminish hierarchy? Is hierarchy a bad thing for the people? Honestly I don’t think in the end we will actually realise the ideology of socialism whilst diminishing the static status of social hierarchy and allowing up flows of talented people could be the ultimate solution.

Very good question raised. I think in the perfect model(say Utopia), everyone acts strictly on the same ethical principles and comply with the established/voted consensus, the reliance on good leadership can be minimised to the lowest level. We still need leadership(either good or bad) in some scenarios(to initiate voting).
