What is Blockchain Technology?
Blockchain is a combination of the words Block and Chain. This technology is actually a chain of blocks. In general, blockchain is a type of information recording and reporting system. Its difference from other systems is that the information stored on this type of system is shared among all members of the network and, using encryption, it is impossible to delete or manipulate the recorded information. Bitcoin was the first application of this technology and used blockchain to store user information. If blockchain is an operating system, Bitcoin is software on this operating system.
