Dogecoin (abbreviated DOGE and symbol Ɖ) is a digital currency and blockchain network created by Jackson Palmer and Billy Marcus, originally as a joke. Dogecoin is considered the first meme coin in the crypto world. This funny digital currency took its name and logo from the Shiba Inu, a Japanese breed of dog and an internet meme. Of course, Dogecoin's main role was as a virtual currency for social networks and payment of rewards.
