There’s multiple options for git since it’s actually an open protocol. You can self host GitLab or go more p2p with radicle.xyz. Open source alternative to NPM could be JSR. I personally don’t think any of these are real solutions in the long run. The main point is we focus so much open sourcing our code without really thinking through where it lives or how we download it.
