Modern Western nomadism has a shelf life. There are only so many Authentic Experiences you can have, funky bars you can visit, Before Sunrise liaisons. Ultimately it’s extractive. Pick a place, maybe two, dive deep. Build.

Was surprised how quickly the novelty of just another Old City wore off. Though being home has a shelf life too. Finding a new dive bar don’t hit the same as returning to a familiar one

Yeah they both have their advantages and disadvantages. I think traveling the world is great if you can do it, but after an amount of time, let’s say 2 years the returns are negligible. You’ve got some experiences after that, great. Now, how can you leverage them, bring home the bacon so to speak. My question is, endless travel to what end.

Think it’s just a cycle. Some peoples are shorter than others. Age is definitely a factor too. When you are wandering you long for home and when you’re posted up too long you dream of travels. Something something about balance
