This year, instead of the traditional Toshikoshi Soba, I had my favorite Awaji Island ramen for the New Year's Eve noodles.

Toshikoshi Soba: A Japanese New Year's Eve tradition of eating buckwheat noodles in hot broth. The long noodles symbolize longevity & prosperity, while their easy-to-break nature represents leaving the old year's hardships behind.

I visited my maternal family’s grave and Sumoto Castle on New Year's Eve.

The area around Sumoto Castle has been significantly developed.

The view from the castle keep has improved.

I realized the grounds are larger and have more stone walls than I remembered.

It’s been a while since I breathed in the fresh air of Awaji Island, and it’s truly revitalizing.

Before going to Hikone Castle, I visited a grave and climbed up to the ruins of Sawayama Castle. 
It was my first time climbing Sawayama despite there being a grave there. 
It was more of a mountain than I expected! 
The view was great, with Hikone Castle visible in the distance.

I climbed to the summit from this point. 
Though I saw a few people coming down which made me feel somewhat reassured, I didn't encounter anyone else until I reached the top. 
There was a slight feeling of tension, which provided good physical stimulation.

I visited Hikone Castle for the first time in a while! 

I had completely forgotten about the steep stairs inside the castle and ended up getting out of breath.

少し前の配信をじっくり聞いてみました。
