This year, instead of the traditional Toshikoshi Soba, I had my favorite Awaji Island ramen for the New Year's Eve noodles. Toshikoshi Soba: A Japanese New Year's Eve tradition of eating buckwheat noodles in hot broth. The long noodles symbolize longevity & prosperity, while their easy-to-break nature represents leaving the old year's hardships behind.
