I visited my maternal family’s grave and Sumoto Castle on New Year's Eve. The area around Sumoto Castle has been significantly developed. The view from the castle keep has improved. I realized the grounds are larger and have more stone walls than I remembered. It’s been a while since I breathed in the fresh air of Awaji Island, and it’s truly revitalizing.
