The Iran–Israel proxy conflict, also known as the Iran–Israel proxy war or Iran–Israel Cold War, is an ongoing proxy conflict between Iran and Israel. In the Israeli–Lebanese conflict, Iran has supported Lebanese Shia militias,

most notably Hezbollah. Iran has also provided support to other groups that are opposed to Israel, such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The conflict has been characterized by a series of low-intensity armed skirmishes, with both sides using proxies to avoid direct confrontation.
