Carl Rogers is an American psychologist, he is a famous personality theorist and a famous figure in the approach of humanistic psychology. He received the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the American Psychological Association in 1956 for his important research in the field of psychotherapy. Rogers believed that people are essentially rational beings that are controlled by a conscious understanding of themselves and their experiential world.
