Once you stopped posting on Instagram, people rarely go back and start posting actively again on their profile. Maybe an occasional story but that seems to be it. As IG started over-indexing on vanity, I think less and less people posted regularly and engagement accrued to more of the top 10% of accounts who put a lot of time and effort into their content. I want social to feel less pretentious and more authentic so that people just post and express themselves without having to think about appearances too much. More humanity, less glitz.

big +1 to the fact that it feels less like a platform you want to regularly post on/use all the time and more like this curated profile of people/things curation certainly has its own place in apps but the main thing you should be wanting to drive users towards(espc on a social platform) is posting

also not that I even use it much but I agree with the other comment that stories is one of the better and more authentic/friend-focused features left on instagram there’s something that I like about it being more ephemeral and in the moment
